Gold As a Newbie, What Stops You From Getting Started

hi,

i am not sure where to ask this question but i really need to understand this.

My question is about these "iphone for $1 CPA offers". I want to know how much it cost visitor in actual. I also want to understand the complete flow of these "Get iphone for $1" offers. Everywhere i saw payout for these offers are high like $15 to $ 25. If merchant is only verifying the card with $1 only how can we as affiliate get this much high payout.

Hope someone could make me understand these offers.

Thanks in advance.

43. zaki titou Living a self actualized failure. Not willing to take action, unwilling to be positive and push forward. Never follows through with projects.

44. ragnarkar unwilling to invest in business. Complains about investment or spending money to earn money. Has no grounding or understanding of business and is unwilling to accept taking a responsible role in business. Expects everyone else to the work without having to do it personally.

45. Exo Fear of loss, fear of failure, and fear of losing money. When operating from fear, you destined to lose. Sees all failures as a loss and allows failures to perpetuate fear of loss as if it were a self filling prophecy.

46. Ruann Feels the need to be a techie in order to be a marketer. This is not so at all. You will learn some techie stuff along the way, but you don't have to aspire to be a techie. Most marketers never reach a level of being called a techie. We hire techies!

47. Brixter02 Is letting small things felt in the way. Just pick the tools and get on with it. Pick a tracker and get a landing page builder. Plenty of options for this. Choose them and get on with it. Don't let the little things slow you down or stop you from moving forward.

48. raj14 Feels that figuring this out is a mystery to be solved. In some ways it is, but that's a good thing. This is true for all of us all of the time and this will never end. It's all about figuring out new formulas, always. Thinsk that there is too much information, this is never true. There is never too much information, not ever! Also, thinks, that couses for thousands may be the answer, sometimes they are helpful, but are not necessary to accomplish ones goals in this business. This community has all of the same information, one just needs to spend time studying and implementing to find the "gold in them thar hills"!

49. Mareslo Another fear of failing. Honestly, it never ceases to amaze me that people in any way allow this type of thought to enter their mind. Understand this, "YOU WILL HAVE FAILURES!" We all do, everyday! No one is 100% in all they do in this business. We do "trial and error" in all parts of our business everyday. Also, has the mindset that everything is complicated. Not so, but there is a lot that is comprehensive. This simply means there are a lot of moving parts, so to speak. It's a business, every business has lots of facets. Anyone that thinks this business has lots of facets, try going into Real Estate, or a Law Profession, or a Medical field, or the Restaurant biz. By comparison, this industry is like learning to use an Easy Bake oven!

50. Erroshay Not a problem solver, too much of a worry wart about the small things like getting a grip on landing pages, banners, and other creative stuff we use. Gave up here after only five posts. This business requires getting an education, setting a budget, and taking action. She started taking action, and then gave up. A total lack of commitment!

THIS IS IMPORTANT TO YOU!
How to create a contents for affiliate networks that I want to promote is my basic hindrance.

Well, I'm not a newbie as I already earn through my freelance accounting business where I provide accounting services to the clients who also happen to be eCommerce business owners.

Apart from above, I also have a blog. Though it's not as popular and still in its struggling phase, still I have earned a bit from it.

However, recently, I've developed an interest in pure CPA marketing because I think that you can scale in it much rapidly as compared to other ventures that I've discussed above. Second, I want to make money while I sleep on auto-pilot. This is possible in blogging but not so much in the freelance accounting business.

Despite learning and reading about this stuff a lot I'm still afraid of taking the plunge due to the following reasons.
Listed in ascending order on the basis of importance.

1. Not so much spare funds. I can spare max. 500/month
2. Not much time in hand. Due to my other endeavors (And that is why I think that I need to learn more before actually jumping in the pool). I know that's rationalizing my fear but it is what it is
3. Fear of losing the above spare funds quickly because of lack of time. The feeling that I won't be able to dedicate the much-needed time hence investing money would most likely will end up losing it.
4. Though I don't mind reading technical stuff (I learned to programme despite being an accountant and choosing biology in my college) and I can go through my share of technical articles but still I believe that there's too much technical stuff to learn before I actually give it a try. Otherwise, I'm on a path of definite loss.

So these are my reasons.

Or what you can do is start small, Go from Testing to scaling up. You need to start somewhere, Start small with a few offers on some high-quality sources. Study up on each traffic source and know what's working. Use spy tools. If you go in without that you might lose it all. Unfortunately, there are no easy breaks in this business, But for those who know their stuff, there are always good things waiting. Good luck mate :)

Yes, this is indeed what I'm planning. Let's see. The other issue of time is also still there. However, I've laid down a plan for myself.

For starters, it's concentrating on just one traffic source. Does not matter how many successful case studies I read about other traffic sources, once I choose a traffic source, I need to stick by it.

The second plan is to choose a tracker. Adplexity is on my list but with 500/month I'm checking my options to reduce the "Fixed Cost" as much as possible so that I have more money for the traffic.

18 pages later... whew. I'm tired now :)
I am playing catch up after almost ten tears away from the affiliate world. This is not a problem though. I am thoroughly enjoying reading up on all that I have missed out on over the last few years.
But for me, my main sticking point is a niche / product / offer. I feel that in order to do well, I should promote something I am familiar with, genuinely interested in, almost passionate about. In having such a close relationship with a product, I feel that I will be motivated the most, more driven, and more determined to make it succeed. Personally, I feel if I promote something I don't like or don't genuinely believe in it's worthiness, then I will be prone to distraction. Others may not be like this at all, but for me, when I launch into a venture, I need to (as best as possible) believe in it.
I have many interests and I am sure as the coming weeks pass, I will settle on a product area and go from there - finding offers for that product, LPs, hosting etc etc.
Coffee time now, then back to the reading :)

So, catching up can often be as challenging or time consuming as being a Newbie. In fact, you should consider yourself a Newbie at this point because the level of sophistication in many parts of this industry have risen to levels that only a person with great conviction, reasonable investment in tools, and a willingness to be a true business person will succeed.

But for me, my main sticking point is a niche / product / offer. I feel that in order to do well, I should promote something I am familiar with, genuinely interested in, almost passionate about. In having such a close relationship with a product, I feel that I will be motivated the most, more driven, and more determined to make it succeed. NO NO NO!!! That is not what the business is all about and that is not what being an affiliate marketer is all about. It is about promoting proven offers by reputable providers. PERIOD!!!

If you take that posture of "I feel that in order to do well, I should promote something I am familiar with, genuinely interested in, almost passionate about", then you are falling into the age old "red light/green light" syndrome and that kills every sales persons career before they get started. DO NOT JUDGE the worthiness of an offer on your beliefs! NOT EVER!!!

Your business is about promoting and converting, nothing more. If there are people out there that respond positively to "pay per call" offers, and you decide; "I can't do that because I hate sales calls", then you are making that decision for the wrong reasons. You would be projecting yourself onto the opportunities that produce HUGE money in the industry. I don't do PPCall because I have always been an effective content marketer, an effective CPA marketer, and a very effective affiliate program marketer in the coaching space. I didn't choose the PPCall space because I developed my skills in other areas long before PPCall became a big part of the affiliate marketing industry. I chose my areas of affiliate marketing because I had some of those skills already! It was a lateral move for me with those skills when entering the affiliate space.

I've been a business person and sales person all of my life and I have spent several hundred thousand (conservatively) on coaching and training. Your perspective is always a topic of discussions in training because it is the "DEATH NELL" of any good or great marketer!

DON"T FALL INTO THIS TRAP! It always slides DOWNHILL!

Perhaps this is partially why you fell out of the business ten years ago!?

I have many interests and I am sure as the coming weeks pass, I will settle on a product area and go from there - finding offers for that product, LPs, hosting etc etc.
Coffee time now, then back to the reading :)

You need to determine a specific niche by determining what the most highly responsive niches may be at present. Then, once you select a niche based on that, narrow down to a sub-niche that is producing BIG at this time. You do that by using a "spy" program like AdPlexity, or Social Ad Scout, etc.

Find currently highly successful niches with currently highly successful offers and zero in on that! If you approach your re-entry into this industry that way, YOU WILL EARN FAST & BIG!!!

I PROMISE!!!

You're a good fella TJ - thanks so much for taking the time to respond.
I have read your reply twice now and of course, it makes perfect sense. What was I thinking? Perhaps I was thinking more along the lines of a monetized blog - producing such and maintaining its longevity is made all the more easier when one has a genuine interest in it's subject matter.
But as you have stated, what we do here is quite different to this.
Your post has put be back on track and no doubt prevented me from spending more time than necessary in getting going.
Thank you.
Years ago, I genuinely liked the products I was promoting as an affiliate and had a great time doing this.
Then I emigrated :)

Thanks again.

You're a good fella TJ - thanks so much for taking the time to respond.

I want you to succeed. You may become a branded media marketer at some point where clients want you to market them, and you cannot judge them, you can only decide; "do I have the skills to make them profitable, to bring them the conversions they require".

Perhaps I was thinking more along the lines of a monetized blog - producing such and maintaining its longevity is made all the more easier when one has a genuine interest in it's subject matter.

You can do this at the same time, kind of like a public journal. Many do this. Take a look at Neil Patel's blog, he does this all of the time.

But as you have stated, what we do here is quite different to this.

EXACTLY!

Thank you.

Always here to help! All of us!

Hi new here ready to start but what program do i market?

Okay, the first thing to do is learn how to use this forum, and any subsequent teaching/learning materials.

The title to this thread is, "As A Newbie, What Stops You From Getting Started".

You are asking a Newbie question and not responding to the title of this thread.

This question you have should be posted in the Newbies Helpdesk forum.

I also posted a quick start guide in your introductions thread for you.

Good Luck!

Ok TJ , Thank you will take a look at the guide.

If you are passionate about a product that few people will want to buy: you will have a tough row to hoe.
Tesla was founded in 2003 and has yet to pay a dividend --a good product that many ARE interested in.
People have to want what you are offering them, or; can clearly use (or envision) that product's advantages --and sometimes that fails as people don't want to feel they are making a chancy decision.

Number 1 will always be demand in the market for immediate or short term, purchase if you want to make short term cash income.

I think I have no more excuses. I used to feel this way back in the time and I realized how much of a delay it caused my intended progress. Especially with the information overwhelm part; it was crazy but gradually I have come to overcome all of that and see what works. The second part was with money yet I have realized that as important as it is to a business, you do not need so much for a start especially when you know what you are doing and you are determined to take action towards your success.

At this point what I do is plan, research and learn from more experienced people. Ask the relevant questions so I can get the assistance I need and in the course of that assess the advice I receive and tweak the plans to suit the inputs. I think Skill, Focus, Persistence and Determination matter.

Feeling like I'm in over my head - info and technical overwhelm.

Simply not knowing how to do something or not understanding it well enough to implement properly (i.e. *!^&% tracking). Sometimes creates problems that I don't always know how to fix.

I still suffer shiny object syndrome occasionally, I want to try or do too many things at once and end up not completing any of them. But I'm getting better. :)

Thanks for asking!
So crazy to see this and then see how far you've came! You're an admin now! :D

TJ,
Here are my issues :-
1. Delusional thoughts of making US$10,000 in the first month despite always telling myself that affiliate marketing is not a quick get rich scheme. Have to learn the art of delayed gratification.
2. My one page landing page is already up and the focus now is building up free traffic strategies. I have already started answering questions on Quora. Now the focus is on interacting in forums. But I seem to be taking too long to learn the do and don'ts of forum membership.
3. Do not make any plans but always jump into AM work with what I feel I should start with. Kind of stupid?
4 How much to do the learning versus taking action? Follow Pareto law 80/20?
5. I applaud the quality of the threads and your advice. As a newbie it gives me further encouragement.
Thank you.
