First I'd like to say hi and Happy New Year to everyone

Second I'd like to say what a wonderful looking forum this is, very nice work

O.k, heres my question. I have a webdesigner friend who is going to develop a site for me. I normally buy and sell domain names but I'm starting to look into this affiliate stuff alot more lately.

Now I understand the internet is saturated with certain products and services so it would be ideal for me to focus on just one site for now that doesnt have alot of competition. I have a very nice brandable domain name for the "Private jet, lear jet, luxury jet" industry.

A google search results in much lower search results for those type of keywords compared to "Travel, airfares, flights etc)


As for affiliates in this area I seem to be pretty limited from what I've found.

I told my designer I really like the simple, very clean, easy to navigate type of websites

Does anyone have any ideas or insight on what I could put on my domain in this feild?

Hey, I don't have any answers to your luxury jet question as I have absolutely no experience with that industry. I just wanted to say welcome and that I'm also from PA. Nice to have you here, this is a very knowledgeable forum and I'm sure you'll find your answers.

HasRob, what comes to my mind would be things that these particular people would want or need when it comes to what programs you might consider.

Hotels would be at the top of my list because hotels would be of interest to them when they arrive at their destination and they probably aren't looking for bargain hotels.

Financial services would also be worthy of consideration.

Luxury jewelry is also something that would interest this group of people.

Limousine service or car rentals would be useful.

There are affiliate programs for all of these.

Welcome to 5 Star. Always try to think like your potential customer, what would that type of person be interested in? Like Sheree I don't know about the market.

Larwee made some good suggestions.

Other ideas: designer luggage, high end leather notebook cases. Also maybe something like Sharper Image? Expensive gadgets and stuff?

As far as content, see if you can find any blogs on the subject and see what type of topics they write about. There may even be some blogs that you could syndicate.

I'm talking to my webdesigner and we're thinking just go with a full blown out travel website. Customize the code from travelocities affiliate program and offer travel related products on a seperate page from my affiliates like luggage, trip insurance, jewelry, gifts etc.

Also have a "Private Jet Charter" tab/page with some basic info and affiliate banners/links, pictures of some of the private jets available, a request a quote form etc.

This way everything is covered under one website and content is nicely related.

My only concern is the travel related websites, there are probably millions of them and would be hard to compete I'd guess.
