Ask Me Anything Low Quality and Fake Traffic

Last night I reached an epiphany about traffic and why higher priced offers were not converting.

There was the option to set the browsers and operating systems to the most current versions in the dashboard setting of this (named) ad network. I am not going to call out ad networks that do not support this --only warn you when this is not available --the traffic has to be filtered by you on your server --to emulate the strictest sorting.

Why is this important to do?

For the reason that real people use real browsers, and as you know; browsers will update automatically to the most current versions.

I did that trying to create the best cohort of high quality traffic.

And what I found was that;

The same creatives that were getting clicks off of a landing page were no longer getting clicked.

What does that mean?

Well I think what it means is that I was being deceived by low quality traffic and clickbots.
I was getting clicks but the clicks weren't converting because they were junk clicks because the traffic was junk.

So what are the possible solutions?

1. Try to change the landing page to a simpler OK --click to agree to something.
2. Develop a content site and use the bulk (push-pop) traffic to seed the SEO of the website.

Time expensive development process. I am thinking of using sports feeds.
That will cost maybe a few hundred a month --the good feeds are not free.
Also, using an AI program for content and editing the resulting product.
Same thing --the good AI will not be free but cheaper and more dependable that humans will ever be.

Or, save my money and write of the small cash loss on traffic and eat the web development and design costs --my wasted time (intangible value but very costly to me --my time is money).

I do have a NFT Affiliate program development possibility going but we are starting from scratch on the affiliate program and from alpha level on the smart contracts, real IP contracts with licensors of the IP/offers.

Hopefully, this can be salvaged as the NFT's will need both branding and conversion type ads of some sort.

Bottom line here is: Junk ads give junk data that is deceiving --apart from being a waste of your money as well as a colossal waste of time.

It also depends on what is your offer and from where you are buying the traffic.

When you are buying traffic and target only the latest browsers versions, what did you notice - the traffic is form or there are bots again?

how could anyone tell really ?
target only the latest browsers versions, what did you notice - the traffic is form or there are bots again?
All of the requests were HTTP/2.0 like a real browser would be
the hostnames I spot checked seemed legit.
these were not for <$5 offers or SOI
bottom line the money spent was a total waste
Forex and Gambling are not easy sells for this ad traffic --that was the nature of the offers

789 received at my server

I just sent 703 referrals that were in page push to affiliatefix for a test of a 'free offer' MMO forum

Free worked? Sent TJ the redirect list and the sever logs will have the tracking codes i used.

lot of fake that would not redirect with a javascript redirect and/or error clicks
net cost
5/709 = $0.007
So I guess the question of the day is what did a new registration cost? from what I observed from the list at the bottom of the board there were 2 new registrations ... need to grep the server logs here

well i used white lists
basically network traffic is only good for branding I think --sadly
I can just buy a whitelabel RTB and buy the same traffic a lot cheaper.
I tell traffic network reps to fund $20 into a test account and I will test on YOUR money ONLY.
So far they all run like hell and I don't care :p

Distilled down to a one shot epiphany/finding/ or synopsis :
You cannot sort low quality or junk traffic and have your CTR/CR mean anything usable -- it's just mental masturbation that you pay a lot of money for.

Maybe I will have to go to native ads for these $100+ payouts because this pop/push traffic is totally useless at this level

Prepare to pay a much more money with native traffic.

I'll pay $5.00 an ad if it converts1:3 --all day long
paying $0.30 for 100 landed referrals that convert 0 is just throwing away money!

Anyway, this traffic is only for branding now I just made a deal for development of a us sportsbook datafeed for an new SEO site. Got off the phone 10 min ago.
I'll just buy the sportsbook (affiliate operator) license from each state once I have enough SEO traffic and go for the real money ;)

This traffic will never make direct conversions on this level. We are talking serious money not token DOI pr $30 sales.

Fake traffic is not unusual for those who rely only on buying it, and not on attracting it organically or with some quality paid ads. As you said, junk ads give junk data, you really can't expect anything else to happen.
