Gold Mobile Journey (Don’t Stop Believing)

Hello guys, hope you all had an awesome week, and “scored some”, either financially, romantically or why the hell not, both :p. Just wanted to give you the scoop on this new mobile offer I’m testing with paid traffic, maybe disect it along the way and find some method to my madness (if there is actually one).

So first thing, I choose a traffic source that looks neat, and maybe not chokefull of people with more money than common sense. Let’s call them ”angry bids”, or newbs with a deathwish. So I’m up for a testfest sinceI got 10 bucks in it like a baller (lowballer mind you... cheapstake SOB), testing an offer my friendly & helpful affiliate manager recommended (thx dog, I’ll send you a xmas postcard this year). So I know there’s epc and people making money on it.

Now I wanna make crystal clear right at that moment, I WASN’T REALLY TRYING TO MAKE PROFIT, hell I knew I’d end up losing money first, and so did I outstandingly...

INITIAL SCORE
Offer Payout: $1.10 (app download)
Spent: $10
Conversions: 0
Revenue: 0
Profit: -$10
ROI: -100%

So I’m like “Holy shit I suck!”, yeah just like you are rigth now. But hold your horses, at least now I have a certain ballpark for what countries seem to have the highest volume, and about what kind of CPM I could expect. Yeah I’m not doing CPC on this, but CPM. Why? Cause I like living on the edge... now seriously, networks don’t give a rat’s ass about CPC or CTR for that matter, eCPM IS KING. Cause CPM is how they buy traffic, specially if you want premium stuff aka “show me the money”.

Then I’m doing interstitials all up in this mother, and failing miserably... right?... wrong, apps are different from run of the mill offers. Some advertisers don’t count simple installs as conversion (those days are gone or about to), the user has to open it, and maybe even perform certain action(s), so it can take minutes, hours, or even days for showing.

But this is how the score looked after a day wallowing in misery over 10 bucks that could have been far better used in caffeine and free wifi at starbucks.

MID SCORE:
Spent: $10
Conversions: 8
Revenue: $8.80
Profit: -$1.20
ROI: -12.0%

Still in red numbers but that doesn’t look too bad right? Wrong! It looks amazing. DON’T EXPECT ANY OFFER TO BE PROFITABLE FROM THE START, guys I can’t stress this nearly enough. I’ll take -50% ROI on any offer, before optimization, any day of the week.

Then as soon I’m getting data (which countries, OS, carriers & devices are converting best), I start culling the impression hoarders, which aren’t converting. Blood money sucking bastards. Gathering data, analizing and optimization are the keys to profits... not some shady $15 course on how to make $20 million a month to leave your wife and kids, while you ride your lambo with a pornstar to the sunset. You’re not losing money, YOU’RE INVESTING IN DATA. Or even better, building a list to keep promoting offers on and on. You lead peddling hoes ;).

So what’s score looking so far?

x0a4Tt8.jpg

Spent: $23.64
Conversions: 54
Revenue: $59.40
Profit: $35.76
ROI: %151.27

BTW Ignore the clicks, those are actually impressions (you’re such a ballsbuster hasoffers), and your conversion rate is actually really really good, when your “clicks” range from .001 to .005 a piece.

So keep hope alive guys, this is not “easy money”, but is a great business oportunity like no other, and you don’t need a huge budget to begin seeing results consistently. Gonna try to post about some other offers I’m running, and a few great resources for mobile marketing which are of course FREE and can get you started in no time (you’re already in one, Affiliatefix). No referral links, not "read my blog", not "join my list", no bullshit. At least not in this thread lol. So any feedback, criticizm and death threats will be appreciated. Good luck and profits everyone. Now go make some money!

Cheers.

Hey guys thx for the encouragement, hope you're all having an great weekend. Sorry for not updating or writing a more insightful post but I've been mad busy lately and is probably just gonna get worse (work hard play hard heh). Nonetheless here are current stats from that offer:

Spent: $43.61
Revenue: $189.20
Profit: $145.59
ROI: %333.85

So as you can see profit really went up there with proper tracking and optimization, cause I cut off carriers and devices who were bringring me down and taking a chunk of profits. Still the further you narrow down your targeting, your ROI will get off the scale, but your volume will suffer, then it comes to your budget and goals.

The offer I'm running is an IOS app download, I chose it with the 9-10 rule, meaning, would 9 out of 10 people need/want this? And this is an APP even my former 7th grade math teacher could use... and she was a mean old lady. Also chose one that not many people have downloaded judging by ammount of reviews in apple store, which meant possibly less competition/higher demand, seems like it was.

Now about giving up specific offers or traffic sources, sorry but I'm not ready to do that yet, this is an offer and source I'm currently using, and that is the life and blood of a media buyer. I don't have a product, blog or referal link, cause I'm not selling you anything guys, but I'm glad to show you the journey I'm going through and whatever I learn that can be useful to you, without shooting myself on the foot. After all give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day, teach him to fish, he'll never be hungry ever again. Offers and traffic sources are going up and down or closing everyday, hell even CPA networks do.

By the way if you really wanna learn more about mobile marketing here's a kickass guide Ruck from Revived Media wrote to get you started with the upper hand and is completely FREE for all.

AWESOME MOBILE GUIDE

And here's some free tracking software you don't even need to pay a host for...

Mobaff Tracker
Mobit

And btw Yeahmobi (not a referral link) pays weekly with a $100 USD threshold and have their own private tracker which is free for affiliates. And Amee is a nice girl and Affiliate Manager, tell her "Pablo" says hi ;).

Now finally here are the stats for an offer I'm currently running that pays $0.30 in a country most marketers wouldn't touch with a 10 feet pole...

Spent: $16.86
Revenue: $47.70
Profit: $30.84
ROI: %182.92
Leads
: 159

Peace & profits.

Hello again Fixers. Thanks everyone for your incredible support, that's what I love about this board, people really wanna help you and see you succed. <3 U guys, no homo. I've been insanely busy though, so I mostly read around but not post much, cause I've been trying to work and absorb as much knowledge/data I can, specially since we're going through Affiliate Expert Weeks and gotta make the most of it, picking the brains of Super Affiliates, like a a horde of starved zombies from "The Walking Dead", heh.

So without further ado I just wanna show a payment proof shot of what I made last week working with Yeahmobi. They're not my main CPA network yet, but if they keep paying me like this on time, every time (3 flawless payments so far), it will definitely become my main squeeze (hell I might even end up moving to China), cause weeklies are simply great for cashflow, and they have the kind of mobile offers I like to run the most. Besides, I always wanted to learn mandarin

Thanks for your great share. I have been trying out mobile offers for a few days now. Loosing so far, but I am sure with the right guidance from people like you, I will learn what exactly I need to do.

Thanks for the sharing your success! Keep it up!

I just started with mobile offers and your tips would definitely help!

I have one question, I have conversions on my offer but mobaff tracker does not register it. What do you think I have missed out?

I have this problem when I use them to track my mobile traffic.
I can't really make it work coz not many uses MobAff so I got rid of it and only paid attention to the Aff networds statistics and Ad network stats.
And I compared them using Excel Sheet.

Its not a problem really unless you are making bunch of conversion, if you did. You better invest with a tracker and a vps.

Hello everyone, sorry not to update more often, things been just loco, but mobile profits still rolling in so is all good . I guess the key to having your own business is working 3 times harder than if you had a day job :p, but still pretty damn worth it, no question!

Remember tracking and gathering data is where the gold is at. If you're "losing money" (I prefer the term "buying data"), but you know why, what ad placements, carriers, models, actually losing money, which ones are erning and which ones have potential, then success is just a matter of wits & perseverance. If you're making profit from the get go, but you don't even know why or how, then it just luck, and won't last I promess. Cause shit happens in this industry, offers get paused/closed all the time, or networks go down in flames like *cough* EWA *cough* nobodies business.

Can't really tell unless I know what's your setup... CPA network run on hasoffers or cake? What ad networks you using? Do you know how to use subids or postback url? I could take a guess but to be sure hit me up on skype (pm for it if you're interested, I'm busy at times but I'd be glad to help a brother in arms ;)). i bet is something very simple and easy-peasy to fix. It normally is.

Same as above, just hit me up on skype hombre! Cause honestly most ad networks traffic reports/targeting sucks big time rush. And hasoffers/cake still sitting on their thumbs about mobile, they just created subids for mobile tracking but they just grab the variables (ain't tracking shit on their side). Cause you probably wanna make a bunch of conversions anyway amiright ;). Till you exhaust those free 1,000,000 clicks/month, mobafftracker gives you, cause once you do, you'll have way more $$$ to pay for the pro version. Just buy me a beer once you're set up :p.

Peace & profits, cheers!
