Best of luck @Honeybadger I wish I was as proactive as you are during this "slump phase" of your life. Would've saved me a good 2 years of my life rather than being a bum... following along! This sounds like an exciting journey Clapping

Life lessons
Also apply to affiliate marketing
Focus on the basics
Keep things simple
Make the best use of your time
Find smart methods and develop them
Put something of value on the table
Take something of value off the table
Research your information
If you start something try to finish it
Set realistic targets
Go get em tiger!

Update
Been a busy few weeks
Not much time outside working hours of my regular job
Working 7 days per week
No longer homeless but still living a difficult life
Each affiliate site focuses on solution related to a key product/service
All listed in Google Sheets preadsheet
Added important events for each site scheduled in Google Calendar
Doing everything from my phone except technical work using computer

Still receiving $250 monthly from my old affiliate site with zero work
Mainly from Amazon Associates

Could have been doing this full time since July 2020 had I not gone off the boil and got comfortable last Christmas

Learning lessons the hard way

Guys, no BS this is really possible to do full time but if you do it my method it has to be full time effort and treated like a business

You only get out what you put in, that applies to both affiliate marketing and life

Glad to hear things are getting better for you.
Still receiving $250 monthly from my old affiliate site with zero work
That has got to help

Never focus on just one thing, one offer, one traffic source....
You are correct
Meant one product such as winter hats
But including many types of hats
In this example the site would be named Winter Hats
Perhaps the URL could be winterhats.com
Hero products will emerge where competitors are weak
Google Search Console shows traffic and rankings for the hero products
That's the time to go in hard on promoting those products
Since the GSC data is updated every 24-48 hrs
Also Google Trends can show additional emerging in demand product trends
Use tools such as ubersuggest.com for keyword estimates
Try to focus on monthly keyword numbers for products in the mid to high hundreds or low thousands
There's less competition from rival websites and advertisers
Keep asking questions and making comments guys

"victorian hats for women" lets say that this is they keyword.
how do you promote this as an amazon affiliate product. do you make wordpress site with an exclusive victorian hat item?
Do you make a review type site or how is it?
can you please give an example of competitor site which does the same long tail keyword SEO content?

Target: 40 niche affiliate sites making $10 per day =
$400 per day by Christmas

Been 13 months since I started
Made $13k so far
Spent all of it, dumbass, nearly broke
Not a problem, life is short
Now I'm starting again
Launching 40 affiliate websites at once
Different niches, target audience is USA and UK
Always get converting traffic from other places
Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa plus Europe
But UK and USA are my most profitable markets
All the sites are related to products and services
Will probably add 10-20 more when funds allow
Niche sites about single products
90% are winter/festive related
1st update in a few minutes
Gonna keep this simple and organized
Step by step so you can copy what I'm doing
From experience - this affiliate marketing thing really works!!!
Side note - I will be donating 10% of what I earn to charities helping people get off drugs and start a new career
Nice update so far Following.

Created a product listing site
Using Woocommerce plugin
Different brands, one product type (winter hats)
Then sub categories
1. Winter hats
2. Mens winter hats
3. Mens winter thermal hats
4. Mens black winter thermal hats
5. Mens black woollen winter thermal hats
6. Mens Ralph Lauren black woollen winter thermal hats
The deeper you go the higher your chances of ranking (less competitors) but lower traffic
You will get traffic this way
But its incredibly time consuming
So use Yoast plugin for SEO auto snippet generation
Also make your product landing pages amazing
Landing Page Guys on You Tube is a phenomenal resource
I get another monthly cheque $265 next week from my 2020 site and in October I have done absolutely nothing on the site except pay $20 for hosting
It's become 99% passive income

Good idea
how do you promote this as an amazon affiliate product.
Create your own listing
Better than Amazon listing
Use more images
Ideal is official product video
Embed on your site
Amazon rarely does this
Will probably appear in video search results
Opens your web page
With BUY button
do you make wordpress site with an exclusive victorian hat item?
Yes
Do you make a review type site or how is it?
You use real customer reviews
You add as much information as possible
But keep it relevant to a purchaser
Sometimes I include slightly negative reviews
"Product was smaller than expected, product arrived late, product was slightly different than advertised"
Does not matter
Because if somebody searches Google for product
Proves they really want it
Makes it more trustworthy
can you please give an example of competitor site which does the same long tail keyword SEO content?
Its the product name
Or the category name
That is the long tail
Same as amazon.com
My main competitor

When people are interested to buy an Amazon product that you have on your site and click on the product (from your site) does it redirect them to the Amazon website (using your aff link) ?

Yes that's correct
But it's a continuous job to keep updating it
  1. Make sure the link URL is correct
  2. Make sure that the product is in stock
  3. Make sure that the price is correct
  4. Make sure the video is still working
  5. Make sure all other details are correct
  6. Post blogs and link to your product pages
  7. Keep updating product pages with new content
  8. Add new images using video stills
You can also use a drag and drop tool
Will cost around $50-400 per year

do you use WP rocket by any chance?
No
Is it good?
what plugins would you consider the most essential for increasing site speed and engagement?
Depends on your niche
One think I recommend is start with LOTS of plugins
Make sure your site has all the plugins required
This will make your site very slow
Slow sites are bad for customers and bad for SEO
Perfect
You can them eliminate any plugins you don't need
Keep track of site loading speeds
You can check this in Google Analytics
Faster site will help customers and improve SEO
Better to start slow and get faster than start fast and get slower
Every second counts
I wish Neil Patel had a Wordpress plugin
That would be a game changer in the SEO industry
Live Chat is very good for helping customers make decisions
Broken Link Checker
Akismet

But you pay for a subscription and need to be online
Anyone know of a chat bot plugin?
Wordfence is goo for WP security
Google's Site Kit --> instead of Monster Insights
Woocommerce if you are making product pages
Yoast is the best SEO plugin I've used
Official Bing URL plugin is very useful
Also Bing Clarity is very cool
Good questions Chris
Keep asking it's the best way to learn
Also make sure you make lots of mistakes
It's another good way to learn

Thanks for responding so fast! You're an inspiration for me TBH since I've joined. I've read your 2-3 follow-along that you have here and I'm planning to follow a similar journey to yours very soon. I'm still in the brainstorming phase but plan to start very soon.

But 3 questions if I can;

Wouldn't the customers find it weird to go on your site and click on your product only to then be redirected to another site (Amazon)?
Me for example if I went to a site to buy something and got redirected to Amazon I would be wondering what's going on.. Am I overthinking?

Also - You mention using blog posts and links to redirect to your product page. Do you post these blog entries on the same site where your product is? (IE: Let's say you're selling a Patagonia Frozen Range jacket for winter). Do you write posts on your main page like ''These Are The 5 Winter Jackets That Everyone Should Have'' and then in it you add a backlink to your product page? Or do you use another source (forums, external site, etc..)?

What kind of video are you using exactly? Do you mean the video that Amazon provide sometimes on the product page or do you do research about the product and make/edit one of your own to promote it?

Thanks again! =) And GL on your journey.
