i would like to add the same thing what others have told.

The page you make should be designed properly the layouts should be user friendly. meta tags and content plays an important role in seo. your content should be unique for every page there should not be any duplicacy of content. while writing content use primary keyword in the first two para then you can use the secondary keywords. Give internal linkings. avoid keyword density and keyword stuffing in the content. Once your pages are ready upload it. Create google and yahoo sitemap. Insert robot.txt file.Use the tracking tool code in your pages so that you can track the visitors.these are thing you can do intially.Secondly you can go for article submissiom,blog posting, forum posting, directory submission.

I this basic level of info will help you to go about.
