Black Hat SEO will help your website to boost very early, backlinks will generate very quickly but using this technique is not safe. Google will see that within sometime you create alot of backlinks and google think you are a spammer and google can ban your website.
On the other hand doing White Hat SEO takes time to get the better results of your website. You create backlinks manually but the thing is this method is secured.

Absolutely no difference if you ask me. Many say that black hat is stuff that the search engines do not like, white hat is stuff that search engines like and...gray hat (LOL) - something that's in between.

Kewl - lemme explain why I totally disagree. Mainly because it MAKES NO SENSE. Think about the "search engine business model" - how do they make money? Well - they sell adds. Also, they want to promote the best content for the guy that searches for stuff. Google, or any other search engine couldn't care less about the webmasters - they care about the user. So, naturally, they do not like people "optimizing" their sites to show higher in the results page. Therefore, any kind of SEO is frowned upon.

There are, however, things you can do that won't get you in trouble - and this is because it is natural and all big businesses are doing them and stuff that will (a.k.a spamming your sites with cheap links won't get you anywhere).
