What are Long Tail Keywords?

They are keyword phrases which are very, very specific to whatever you are selling. Whenever a customer uses a highly specific search phrase, they tend to be looking for exactly what they are actually going to buy.

  1. Type a keyword into a search engine
  2. Observe the drop down menu of the suggested phrases >>> the *auto-suggestion* lists
  3. Those are the most often search terms used with that keyword.
That is an example of what long tail search phrases mean (in actual use).

Good sound for long tail keywords. We know long tail keywords is easy to get quick rank then short tail keywords but even why people don't like to go with long tail keywords?

Long tail keywords are usually keyword phrases that have relatively less number of searches. These keywords are often used to rank your website faster in search engines.

A long-tail keyword is a keyword phrase that contains at least three words (though some say two or more is considered long-tail). Long-tail keywords are used to target niche demographics rather than mass audiences. In other words, they're more specific and often less competitive than generic keyword terms.

Long tail keyword:- Long tail keywords are phrases containing over 4+ words that make search results highly specific. These long phrases are used by smart SEO experts when they attempt to draw quality traffic to their websites rather than having random traffic and increase their lead conversion rates. Also, long tail keywords are easy to rank compare to single word keyword.

  • If you target longer, more specific long-tail keywords in your content/copy your web referrals will get better.

  • Long tail keywords are those three and four keyword phrases which are very, very specific to whatever you are selling.

  • Most do not realize that 2 out of 10 people search using long tail keywords, and when you get an exact match: --bingo-- you are in position 1 on page 1 in the search engine. Long-tail keywords are actually a great way to reach a more targeted audience for less money and effort.

  • Often overlooked, long tail keywords can be very profitable, targeted keywords; and frequently --important! not that competitive. These search terms are getting many impressions and generating good CTR because long-tail keywords are addressing specific queries.

  • Short-tail and transactional keywords were the primary focus of SEO campaigns -- welcome to 2004!

  • Additionally, long tail keywords, being more targeted, are likely to yield the best CTR, CR (conversion rates) and overall the best SEO metrics for your website or paid ad (AdWords, Bing ads, others ...).

hi
some great repllies above but to add to this further the idea of long tail keywords is that the intent is further down the chain thus you have a better chance of getting a conversion than a 1 or 2 word keyword phrase. IE if you are searching for life insurance then there is more intent to convert if the searcher has searched for

i want to buy life insurance ( long tail )
than
life insurance

All the best
