Google admits that the <H> tags have been meaningless in the Google Algorithm.

Google's spokesman said so --read the article.
<H> tags are useful for screen readers and accessibility. Accessibility is a consideration in ranking so maybe they are a minor factor if you are designing an accessible website for the visually impaired or blind. But there is more to building an accessible website that just <H> tags ...

Can we possibly forget about pleasing the Google gods and just go about our business pleasing our target audiences instead? Let things grow organically because we offer kick-ass content and site experience?

Asking for a friend.....

I would just make good usable pages for your audience with desirable content and not too many ads.

Why do so many try to complicate this? This is all it takes! The better you do it like this the better your rankings and the better your organic traffic.

No matter what, this is still a tertiary traffic source. It isn't for deep investment. It's something that adds traffic to your primary traffic sources.

If you own a brand, or some right, SEO is a worthwhile investment.

If you are an affiliate it's a very hard row to hoe. I can be done but the odds of any real long-term success are minuscule.

A *brand* is not some review site in the majority of cases --that is really wishful thinking IMHO.

May I know the difference between H1 title and Meta title?
H1 is a font size in the <body> (or content) of the page.

Important title <h1>

Section title <h2>

meta use inclusively is a schema for sorting all documents.
In webpages: meta is in the head section of the HTML that's mainly for categorizing the document and is read by search engine robots
this page:
HTML:
<head>
    <meta charset="utf-8" />
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge" />
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, viewport-fit=cover">
<!-- Google tag (gtag.js) -->
<script async src="https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=G-"></script>
